This fully illustrated catalogue accompanies the 2026 exhibition Rachel Whiteread: On Paper with Related Sculpture, which brings together a selection of the artist’s rarely seen drawings alongside related sculptural works. Long kept separate from her sculptures at Whiteread’s request, these works on paper offer a rare insight into a more private dimension of her practice. Produced largely during the 1990s, the drawings explore surfaces, structures, and domestic spaces through materials such as correction fluid, ink, and graph paper, revealing drawing as a parallel mode of thinking through volume, absence, and interior space.
